A speech therapy screening is a quick, informal check to determine if your child may benefit from a full evaluation of their speech, language, or communication skills. Screenings do not provide a diagnosis but help decide if further assessment is recommended. During the free, 10-minute screening, our speech therapist will look for your child’s strengths/weaknesses in the following areas:
Articulation (Clarity of Speech)
Is your child understood by the people he/she tries to communicate with? Is your child producing all age-appropriate sounds correctly in his/her daily speech? Does your child seem frustrated that others cannot understand them?Language (Receptive and Expressive)
Is your child using an age-appropriate vocabulary? Can your child comprehend age-appropriate instructions? Is your child speaking at an age-appropriate sentence level?Pragmatics (Social Skills)
Can your child use the above language skills appropriately in every day contexts? Does your child play appropriately with other children/adults? Can your child participate in a back and forth conversation with a partner? If your child does not pass the screening, we will schedule a virtual conference to discuss next steps.

A speech-language evaluation is the first step in understanding your child’s communication strengths and challenges. These assessments typically include standardized testing, caregiver input, observation, and informal measures as needed. Results provide scores that show how your child is performing compared to same-aged peers, helping us identify specific areas of strength and areas that may benefit from support.
Evaluations usually take between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on your child’s age, attention, and the areas being assessed. After the evaluation is completed and the written report is finalized, we offer a free parent consultation to go over the results in detail. During this meeting, we walk you through the findings, explain what the scores mean, and answer all your questions. We’re committed to being thorough, so you feel informed and confident about next steps.
We provide evaluations for:
Speech sound disorders
Phonological disorders
Fluency disorders (e.g. stuttering)
Childhood apraxia of speech (CAS)
Language delays and disorders
Pragmatic (social) communication disorders
Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs

Speech therapy sessions are tailored to your child’s unique needs, using a mix of structured activities, play-based learning, and functional communication practice. We focus on areas such as speech clarity, vocabulary expansion, social communication, and supporting the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). The activities are designed to be engaging and relevant to your child’s everyday life.
Sessions typically range from 1 to 4 times per week, depending on the level of support your child needs. Therapy can take place wherever your child is during the day—at home, school, or a daycare/center-based setting. By working in familiar environments, we make sure therapy is as effective and natural as possible.
We collaborate closely with your child’s teachers to ensure the strategies we work on in therapy are reinforced in the classroom and other settings. This teamwork helps your child progress consistently across environments.
You’ll receive weekly session updates on your child’s progress, sent through your preferred communication method (e.g., email, text, phone). These updates keep you informed and involved in your child’s therapy journey. Please call or text for pricing.
