Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept our insurance?
Stride is an out of network speech therapy provider, meaning that we charge private pay rates at the time of service. We can provide superbills (medical receipts) upon request, which may be reimburseable by your insurance company. Please note that reimbursement is fully dependent on your specific insurance plan.
We accept HSA and FSA cards as well as all other major credit cards as forms of payment. We offer competitive rates and are happy to discuss pricing during a consultation.
How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?
If you notice that your child struggles with speech or language skills, such as difficulty pronouncing words, understanding directions, communicating their daily needs without frustration, social communication challenges, or stuttering, speech therapy may help. We offer free screenings to determine if therapy is needed.
What is the difference between a screening and an evaluation?
A screening is a brief check to determine if further assessment is needed. It is typically less comprehensive and helps identify potential concerns. An evaluation is a thorough, in-depth process that examines various aspects of speech and language skills and helps us develop a targeted therapy plan.
Do you work with children of all ages?
Yes, we work with children of various ages, from toddlers to school-age children, as well as adolescents. Therapy is individualized to suit the developmental stage and specific needs of each child.
How long do speech therapy sessions typically last?
Sessions typically last between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the age and needs of the client. We aim to create a comfortable, engaging environment for each session.
How frequently will my child need therapy?
Frequency depends on the specific goals and needs of the child. After an initial assessment, we will recommend a schedule that works best for your child, whether it’s weekly, bi-weekly, or another arrangement.
How quickly should I expect to see progress?
Progress varies depending on the child and their specific goals. Some children may show improvement in a few sessions, while others may need more time. We monitor progress regularly and adjust therapy as needed to ensure continued development.
How long will my child be in therapy for?
The duration of therapy depends on the child’s individual needs and goals. Some children may need therapy for a few months, while others may require longer-term support. We will set specific goals and reassess progress regularly to determine how long therapy will be needed. On average, our clients remain under our care for 6 months to a year, depending on their individual needs and circumstances.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, we offer virtual speech therapy sessions for clients who prefer or need to access services from home. These sessions are just as effective as in-person therapy and can be conducted via secure video conferencing platforms.
Do you work with other professionals (e.g., teachers, ABA therapists)?
Yes, we believe in a collaborative approach. We work with other professionals, including teachers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and ABA therapists, to ensure that therapy goals are reinforced across different environments.
